Fireplaces

Fireplaces

Over the years, fireplaces have become more popular in homes not just for heating the home, but also for creating a relaxing ambience. The most common type of fireplace used today is a manufactured fireplace with sheet metal fireboxes, which are typically run with natural gas. These types of fireplaces are completely sealed from the area that is heated and all exhaust gasses are vented to the exterior of air via convection, resulting in a more evenly heated space and a lower heating load. The design of the fireplace mantle is completely up to the homeowner’s tastes. Fireplace mantles are typically built onsite and are either painted or stained and are trimmed with varying amounts of details. The fireplace surround is made up of cultured stone, tile, granite or marble.

Fireplaces used to be only found in the living room but in recent years homeowners are beginning to add additional fireplaces to the home such as the family room, the master bedroom and even the deck.
