Details

It’s the details that sometimes make a home unique. Whether it’s the built-in bench in the laundry room, the window above the bathtub to allow natural light or the decorative staircase, the extras are sometimes the most functional. Other details that make up the house include the light fixtures and the plumbing fixtures.

As much as stairs are very functional, stairs can be very decorative and an impressive part of a home. Especially at the entrance, the stairs play an important role in the first impression of a home. A typical staircase consists of a stained wood bannister and newel post with metal balusters. If the Stairs are exposed leading either upstairs or downstairs, the end of the stairs will feature a stained end cap at the end of each riser. Metal balusters are the most popular trend but some people choose to install wood balusters to complete the look of their home.

The built-in bench is a very functional drop zone and features hooks for hanging backpacks and coats and cubbies for storing shoes, hats, gloves and sporting equipment.
